Spiritual Rest: Reset for 2027 – Michael Dillon

Arrival time 4.00pm - Departure time 1:00pm Short Retreat

Accepting the things that are in your control and identifying the things that aren’t.

An opportunity to rest, reflect and reset following the transition from the old year into the new. Guided reflections with music and movement.

Note: Expectations to begin the New Year on a high and meet expectations to kick-start wellness programmes can be enormous for some of us. We want to clear the slate of ‘not so good habits’ and breathe a fresh air of positivity into our lives. We watch as those with ever higher levels of motivation and drive, speed ahead of us into the New Year of change, guided by all sorts of rejuvenation programmes. And yet for many of us, this is not how we are.  We can be overwhelmed, sluggish and feeling a bit down.  Acknowledging how we are feeling at this moment in time can be the best place to begin any New Year. You may in fact be very ok and in a ‘good enough’ space, not super, but good enough right now.  Welcome to humanity.  One of the challenges is that we may not be totally aware of or comfortable with what is in our control to change.  These days give us the space to gently sit with ourselves, with compassion and non-judgement and see what is possible and enough. They are days for people of all beliefs and none. They are designed to offer you a space in which to let go, rest, reflect on your life at this moment in time, and recharge. As you do so, we invite you to experience what Ballyvaloo has to offer, with beautiful grounds for walking, especially 11km of sandy beach, wholesome food, a comfortable ensuite bedroom, room for rest and some calming spaces, to sit in peace. We will also offer you spiritual and psychological support with short, guided input around various themes and meditations led during the day. You will have plenty of time for your own space and if you do not wish to attend sessions, that is ok too. We do not provide mass during the days, but you will have access to our beautiful prayer room with the blessed sacrament present if you wish to avail of it.
