‘To use our own voice, to see our own light’ – Lani O’Hanlon and John Doyle *

Arrival time 4.00pm - Departure time 1:00pm Not a Silent Retreat

“We cannot live in a world that is not our own, in a world that is interpreted for us by others. An interpreted world is not a home. Part of the terror is to take back our own listening, to use our own voice, to see our own light” – Hildegard of Bingen

On this workshop/retreat, inspired by the mystical traditions of the East and West, we will enter the still place of our own unique, divine being to attune with and nurture our own simple inner presence and the natural playful flow of our creativity and connectedness. Reawakened by contemplation on the wisdom of the mystics we will read, meditate, share, explore and respond with creative writing/voice and conscious, subtle, somatic movement.

Lani O’Hanlon is a poet, writer and dance/movement artist based in West Waterford, Ireland.

She has an MA in creative writing from Lancaster University and was selected for Poetry Ireland Introductions by poet, Vona Groarke. Lani’s poetry has won The Gregory O’ Donoghue International Poetry Prize and The Poetry Ireland/Trocaire Award, and with film director Fiona Aryan, The Bloomsday Award for the best Irish Poetry Film and The O’Bheal International Poetry Film Award.
