A time of reflection around our encounter with Christ through prayer and preparation during the Advent season. Meet some of the characters of the Advent journey, reflect on what it means to ‘wait in hope’ and look to the joy that is found in hope fulfilled.

“Take up and read” St. Augustine’s Confessions 8, 12, 29. This short retreat will combine lectio divina on the Advent readings with Christian Meditation. There will be time for personal prayer and rest. The central event each day will be the gathering in of our reflections in the Eucharist.

Extravagance; The Heart of the Gospel. The friendship between God and ourselves lies at the heart of the Gospel, both as its truth and its challenge. Reflecting on this reality is a necessity if we are to appreciate it and live it.
“The way up is the way down” As Paul vividly demonstrates in Romans 7. We will meditate on the Infinite Love and Mercy of God who wishes to share his friendship with each human being.
